This Week in Student Ministry: Looking Ahead!

We had a great weekend last week with Advance 2016! God changed lives, which has been a continuation of what He’s already been doing through Redemption Students.

One of my challenges to our students was to not see the weekend as a “mountain top” experience, but another step in their walk with Jesus. The question should not be “What’s the next event?” but “How can I continue to grow?”

Let me give a few suggestions:

Student Worship: Every week we gather to hang out with friends, worship Jesus, and talk about him with others. Service starts at 6:30 and our current series is a study of the gospel of John: #JESUS – It’s ALL about HIM.

Groups: On Sunday mornings our students meet in groups. Jesus developed disciples through relationship and we’re seeking to do the same. You can’t do the Christian life alone. Encourage your child(ren) to be involved with groups. And if you’re not in one, you need to be for your own walk and for the example you’re setting for your children. Middle School groups meet at 9:00 and High School groups meet at 10:30AM.

New Believers: In the last two weeks we’ve baptized eight students and there are more making that decision. Baptism is a public declaration of faith and ought to be one of the first things we do as Jesus followers. When one of our students is baptized, we give them a booklet – SURVIVAL KIT – to work through. I encourage parents and students to work through this material together!

Everyone: Stay in God’s Word. In Acts 19:20, the Word “continued to increase and prevail mightily.” God’s Word is powerful to change us and transform everything about our lives. Choose a plan to get in the Word DAILY or follow along with our church with the One Day plan.

I love being your Student Pastor!
