21 Days – Day 20

Romans 5:20, “Moreover the law came in order that the trespass would abound, but where sin abounded grace abounded more.”

Sin abounds, but grace abounds MORE! The verb translated “abounded more” in terms of grace is different from the verb used to describe the abounding nature of sin. In fact, this verb, used to describe the abounding of grace, is meant to convey the exceeding nature of God’s favor, literally grace OVERFLOWS. God’s mercy and grace towards those who believe is beyond comprehension. God loves us, not because we have done anything to deserve His love, but because He chooses to initiate a reconciliation between us. This is remarkable and can only be described as grace (unmerited favor) overflowing!
